our next big release at bad barbie, going out on digital and 12 inch, comes by the hand of aldo cadiz itself, but this time partnered with kareem cali. these two made a fantastic three track ep called monita ep. the first track monita presents a solid base created with a classic tech style and an extremely groovy bass line. full of small arrangements and a crazy vocal line, this tracks its perfect for any club dj. the second track bonita, is the one with the more old school vibe, from the bass line to the main acid synth, which goes evolving softly with a filter during the track to generate the needed tension. all this with a strong tech groove to follow the step of this solid ambience created by the acid synths. the last track moni, also has many techno and acid elements presents. we can perceive the techno soul mainly on the arrangement of the hi-hats and bass line, but the acid synth in triplet at the backend is what generates the crazy vibe and almost hypnotic feeling during the track, playing around with the volume of it. definitely a fantastic release to add to any collection.

steady pulsating bassline driven house tracks with a little nodd to the house sound of chicago. great release on this small german label who so far was under the radar and only sold in some local german stores. recommended by roman fluegel.

on jupiter masterdrive the london synth and drum duo further hone their blend of jazz, prog and electronica within the confines of brevity demanded by the 7 format. recorded direct-to-tape over a few heady sessions, these tracks bear the palpably unfolding, organic beauty of improvisation and live recording while conveying ever deeper levels to the pairs musical and artistic vision. the band recorded these pieces in constant experimentation with their tape machine, trying different approaches and techniques for each track this is a small glimpse into the process and a tantalising sample from an expansive body of recordings.

365 million years ago a meteorite crashed with tremendous force in the middle of a land mass that much later would be called sweden, creating one of her largest lakes. the area around this lake, siljan, has always been an epicenter of swedish folklore, with many tales of beautiful but dangerous creatures of the ancient forests and deep vales. perhaps, then, it s no coincidence that the skies over siljan later became the focus of unexplainable sightings, or that small societies appeared, claiming strong indications of extraterrestrial activities on the bottom of the lake itself. the tales may change over time, but the mysterious lake remains the same. and now the time has come for a new tale from siljan. producer colleagues hans berg and johanna knutsson have spent long periods of time in a studio by this lake. feeling a bit like aliens themselves with their blinking and bleeping music machines, the label name ufo station recordings came naturally. little raver ep is the first release, and throughout the three tracks you can clearly sense the contrast between the scenic landscape and sounds inspired by space and alien technology: shimmering ethereal melodies over classic, very fulfilling drum machines. the melancholic singing of space whales over deep and bubbly analog basses. the little raver ep is a house music ufo destined to arouse wonder and astonishment on any dance floor.

great reissue of this early 80s boogie classic from sandy kerr. with production duties undertaken by sandys father, prolific soul writer/producer george kerr alongside sugarhill hip-hop/electro artist reggie griffin, and engineered by bob blank, this is a superb chugging uptempo boogie/rap cut based on a sample from uk band i-levels club hit *give me* which came out the same year. as well as filling floors across the us it was a big underground favourite in the uk for djs such as greg wilson. released on small south carolina label catawba, this 12 inch features the killer in-demand dub chimental version on the flip as well as sandys smooth rapping a-side. dont miss!

were not done celebrating our 10th anniversary at the still music headquarters and weve decided to continue diggin for some treats from our vaults. after weve released the critically acclaimed kill yourself dancing! the story of sunset records inc. 1985-89, a lot of our friends were asking us for some specific 12inches to be repressed. we felt obliged to comply and here we go with three of the most significant 12inches from sunset records inc.

2011 system was started as a platform for underground music in minneapolis. after many club, warehouse, and livestream events system is now launching a record label for 2014. behind you is the debut release from system records. there will be a small 250 piece run of white vinyl inside record jackets designed and hand printed by local minneapolis artists.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

weve complied two blackman and maurice joshua productions for the fourth house of trax 12inch. its a bit of a dirty one... to say the least. althought more polictically incorrect then a dutch politician, these humourous trax will set fire to the speakers for the right reasons too. the little known blackman had a 1993 release with >beat that bitch with a bat<, a song which later got popularized by johnny dangerous. the original 12inch got pressed up in small quantities and is available for the first time in 17 years. on the flip theres both the vocal and instrumental version of maurice joshuas (with hot hula hands) >i got a big dick<, which originally came out in 1988, as the a-side of his more known >this is acid<. both tracks are pretty rare these days and will still go down a storm on the dancefloor.
